Dentist says I have Bruxism

Bruxism is the medical term for grinding, gnashing or clenching your teeth. The condition affects both children and adults.

Some people with bruxism unconsciously clench their teeth together during the day, often when they feel anxious or tense. This is different from tooth grinding or clenching that occurs at night, which is called sleep bruxism. Most children who are bruxers do so at night, while adults are either daytime or nighttime bruxers.

Bruxism may be mild and may not even require treatment. However, it can be frequent and severe enough to lead to jaw disorders, headaches, damaged teeth and other problems. Unfortunately, people with sleep bruxism usually aren't aware of the habit, so they aren't diagnosed with the condition until complications occur. That's why it's important to know the signs and symptoms of bruxism and to seek regular dental care.

(~_~)

I went to see the Private Dental Clinic around my place. The Dentist found out that I have a hairline crack on one of my tooth - 4th tooth to the upper Right (which is causing me to have intermittent pain when i eat). i spent $110 yesterday. take x-tray and 洗牙齿 (wash my teeth)

He recommended me to get a root canal treatment for the tooth, then get a crown for that tooth. Then to prevent other tooth from cracking, make a retainer to wear at night. All these will cost me more then $1000+++ if i do those treatment at his clinic. My NS friend said that this dentist is not bad. cos he did his braces there. BUT I really don't have money. then He recommened me another option which is to pluck it off, else leave it, and let it die off while cracking. . . . I am terrified. God help me. . .

I regret Bitting ICE and other hard stuff. . . Now got Crack. . . The dentist say bitting on Ice is very harmful to the teeth.

Still waiting for my other Dental appointment at the Bukit Batok Polyclinic - Dental Clinic (which is on 5th July 07). I hope the dentist will re-examine my teeth and recommend me to National Dental Center if necessary.

Then I think I won't be attending my lectures on that day, gonna "pon" for that day. . .
